THE MAIN PLAYERS
Banker – distribute money to players
- collect all payables to the bank
- handles transactions on all properties (mortgage, acquisitions etc)
- Holds property cards and distribute as necessary
- All moneys owed to players due to favourably Emancipation and National Hero’s Park cards are payable by the bank as outlined on the card
- Bank pays players $200 when the player GO pass the Taxi Stand
Property Owner – owns deeds to property
- Negotiate between other property owners on property acquisition
- collect rent from squatters
- handles mortgaging of property(ies) with banker
TO START THE GAME
1. Select a banker (banker can be independent of the game)
2. Each player will select a token (game mover)
WAH DIS and WAH DAT cards are placed face down on the board
3. To start, the bank will give each player 2 - $500 bills, 3 - $100 bills, 3 - $50 bills, 5 - $20 bills, 5 - $10 bills, 5 - $5 bills and 5 - $1 bills
Each player will roll the dice once. The player with highest # goes first
ALL GAME PLAYERS
1. All players are subjected to the consequences of the space upon which the game mover lands.
2. A player who rolls doubles moves the sum of the dice and is subject to the possibilities of the space. The player then rolls again and moves again. If the players rolls doubles again (for the 3rd time), they go direct to the Chill Spot. Do not pass collect $200 for passing the taxi stand.
WAH DIS AND WAH DAT CARDS
When landing on any of these spaces, a card is drawn and the instructions are read aloud and followed. The card is then placed on the bottom of the deck.
PURCHASING PROPERTIES
After landing on an unowned property, the player has the option to purchase that property. If purchased, the player receives a deed for the property.
If the player chooses not to buy the property, any player may bid any price to buy the property. Bidding starts at half the cost of the property. The highest bidder receives the title for the property.
RENT
After landing on owned properties, the owner is paid the rent required. No rent is collected when properties are mortgaged. If all deeds of a color group are owned by the same player, the owner may charge twice the rent for undeveloped properties. All rent must be requested before the next roll of the dice. If the dice is rolled by the next person, the owner cannot request rent payment – opportunity past
ONE LOVE JAMAICA
All money required to be paid other than rent and purchase price of properties are placed in the centre of the board. A player landing on “One Love Jamaica” collects all the money I the centre of the board at the time.
CHILL SPOT
If a player is sent to the CHILL SPOT, the player goes directly to CHILL SPOT and do not collect the $200. The player may leave the CHILL SPOT in one of 3 ways1. Rolls three times. 2. Rolls a double with one of the three rolls 3. Use a Leave Chill Spot card in your possession
HOMES AND CONDOMINIUMS
HOMES – When a player owns all the properties of a colour group, houses may be purchased and placed on any of these properties. A total of 4 houses must be placed on all properties in a colour group before a condominium can be purchased There is a maximum of 4 houses and one condominium can be purchased for each property. drawn and the instructions are read aloud and followed.
SELLING PROPERTY
Players may sell property to another player as a private transaction at any agreed price. Properties cannot be sold with homes and condominiums. Houses and condominiums May be sold back to the bank at half the price paid for them.
MORTGAGES
An undeveloped property may be mortgaged to the bank. All houses and condominiums must be sold back to the bank at half price. When mortgaged, the property deed is placed face down. Mortgage value is printed on the back of each deed. When mortgaged, the property deed is placed down. No rent is collected on mortgaged property. To lift a mortgage, the owner must pay the bank the amount of the mortgage
BANKRUPTCY
Upon request, all assets are sold and money paid to creditors. The bankrupt player, immediately retires from the game.
WINNER
Last person standing free of bankruptcy or the person with the most money at the end of the game.
